LAS VEGAS — LDI’s annual conference and exhibition returned to the Las Vegas Convention Center Oct. 19-25, drawing close to 10,000 from 88 countries to view the latest in lighting, staging and video technologies. Chauvet Professional (booth pictured here) and more than 350 other companies exhibited, and new features with this year’s show including a full-scale exhibition of rock ‘n’ roll photographer Neal Preston’s artwork.

A.C.T Lighting and the Lightpower Collection presented Neal Preston’s rock photos. More details
ADJ continued to celebrate 30 Years of Pure Lighting Excitement with new products including the Revo 4 IR, COB Cannon Wash Pearl and WiFLY Chameleon, among other products. More details

AV Stumpfl made its biggest LDI splash yet with the Wings Engine Raw, a triple-stream 4K uncompressed media server that uses a custom engineered RAID 10 system making its U.S. debut. More details
Avolites products presented by Group One Ltd. included the Avolites Arena console with Optical Titan Net Switch. Avolites Media, meanwhile, featured Ai media servers in a separate booth location. More details
Ayrton products presented by U.S. distributor Morpheus Lights included the France-based company’s MagicDot-R, CosmoPix-R and VersaPix-RS, all part of the Creative Solutions line. LDI also marked the US premiere of DreamPanel-Shift and DreamPanel-Twin, and Ayrton’s DreamPanel-HD-Box control system was also featured. More details
Blizzard Lighting teamed up with ModTruss for a buzz-worthy booth presentation. New fixtures on display included Snake Eyes fixtures and the Blockhead Big Eye, a larger version of Blizzard’s original smaller LED square shaped fixtures; they feature nine separate LED cells. More details
Chauvet Professional reported significant interest in products featured at the recent LDI show, with new product offerings including their 5-color LED ellipsoidal, as well as a single source RGBW IP65-rated wash and a new touring version of their ÉPIX Series. More details
Christie featured the M Series line of upgraded 3DLP projectors, which promise enhanced performance; portrait capabilities and a 500 hour increase in the 450W lamp. More details
City Theatrical featured its SHoW Baby 6, which makes use of the company’s Max Technology to let users broadcast in the area of Wi-Fi channel 14, not used in the U.S. and is not heavily used elsewhere. More details
Clear-Com featured its HelixNet Version 3.0, a free software-only update to the HelixNet digital network partyline platform. More details
Elation’s booth at the LDI show Oct. 23-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center included a number of cutting-edge products, including the Platinum FLX, Emotion, Platinum HFX, Satura Profile, ACL 360 Roller, E Touch and RDMX6S. The Platinum FLX and ACL 360 Roller were also featured in a high-energy light show that drew large crowds every half hour. More details
ETC presented a check for $27,405.58 to Behind the Scenes, which reflected ongoing proceeds from sales of ETC’s iRFR and aRFR (Radio Focus Remote) application for iOS and Android devices. More details
High End Systems featured the SolaWash Pro 2000 and SolaSpot Pro 2000 fixtures. Both LED fixtures are said to be brighter than their 1500W metal halide equivalents, even though they require only about half the power to operate. The company also awarded a Hog 4 desk and $20,000 scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University after their team won its Hog Factor competition on the show floor. More details here and here.
Le Maitre unveiled the G300-SMART, a smoke machine featuring IoT capability via Wi-Fi, wireless set up and diagnostics and a backlit LCD display. Also on view: the X2 Wave Flamer, a fluid based flame machine. More details
Martin from Harman featured the Atomic 3000 LED Strobe, which extends the company’s 15-year track record with the original Atomic 3000 DMX strobe into LED territory. The company also featured its Exterior Inground, Exterior Linear and Exterior Wash fixtures. More details HERE and HERE
Oracle LED Systems featured the latest in its Black Widow series of LED display products. More details
Parasol Systems’ miniSTAR, the smallest system in the Parasol family, could be seen through the laser-defined cube created by Lightwave International’s laser display. More details
PixelFLEX featured their PixelFLEX FLEXCurtain HD, among other products, which won a 2015 Parnelli Indispensable Technology ‘IT’ award for Best Video Product at the 15th Annual Parnelli Awards Ceremony. More details
PRG offered a range of lighting, video, and automation innovations. One of the key draws to this year’s booth was the the PRG GroundControl Remote Followspot System. More details here and here
RC4 Wireless featured the RC4Magic DMXpix in that award-winning product’s North American debut. More details
RGB Lights’ FlexiFlex with Philips Color Kinetics iColor Flex MX and LMX gen2 nodes and sPDS-480x for outdoor use were on view at the Philips Color Kinetics boot. More details
Robe Lighting credited its BMFL Wash and BMFL Wash XF luminaires for drawing crowds to its booth at LDI this year, the company’s biggest booth at that show to date. Industry bands The Brobes and Swingin Johnsons drew crowds to the booth as well. More details
SeaChanger featured its new Prodigy color engine, which promises enhanced color mixing that makes use of a white LED light source. The new Prodigy also features a slimmer housing design and silent, fan-free operation with color changes in less than 0.3 seconds. More details
