Canto USA Sponsors Stage Lighting Super Saturday 2018. Scott Parker says “we are looking forward to seeing what Canto brings this year. They have some terrific follow spots.” Canto USA was started with the specific goal of supplying the theatre lighting community with good quality, nice looking, affordable products; together with a passion for professional and friendly service to our customers.

“Developing programs that provide educational opportunities for the next generation of the lighting industry is a priority for Barbizon Lighting and has long been one of our guiding principles,” said Barbizon Lighting’s President and CEO Tom Madden. “These scholarships provide access and financial support to students who show promise and passion in the field but are not otherwise able to afford admission. The experience allows these promising students the rare opportunity to glean wisdom and inspiration from accomplished industry veterans. Barbizon Lighting hopes these scholarship recipients will someday grow into the industry-leading lighting designers that we see and read about.

The 13th Annual Stage Lighting Super Saturday workshop, continuing its practical and hands-on educational presentations, will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts located at 721 Broadway in New York City. Super Saturday is produced by Scott Parker with the help of the NYU Tisch School.

The event, as in years past, is specifically designed to enhance, answer, and benefit the interests and abilities of all involved in the application of innovative stage, architectural, and entertainment lighting.

To accomplish that goal, the intensive all day Stage Lighting Super Saturday Seminars are led by active members of the Theatrical Lighting community for the benefit of new, aspiring, and advancing stage and event designers. Particular emphasis addresses training, inspiration, and effective techniques. Additionally, the nuts and bolts implementation of the many new and long established products that aid in the achieving the desired results are detailed; presented are the methods and equipment that can get the job done as originally visualized.

Approximately 20 technical specialists, as well as manufacturers of superior equipment, will demonstrate techniques and newly available cost-effective products.
