LOS ANGELES – Competitors Live Nation and AEG joined forces with top booking agencies to put the brakes on touring productions in North America and around the world in an effort to limit the spread of coronavirus to artists, fans and crew.
“The world’s leading forces in live entertainment have come together to form a global task force to drive strategic support and unified direction ensuring precautionary efforts and ongoing protocol are in the best interest of artists, fans, staff, and the global community,” the coalition noted in a joint statement.
The move coincided with a broad array of efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus infections among audiences for sporting events and religious and theatrical productions in mid-March.
