COLUMBUS, OH — A load-out accident following the Jan. 16 Luke Bryan concert at Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center sent four crew members to the hospital with minor injuries. Reports noted a chain of events involving a forklift, video gear and stage structure elements, with both crew and gear falling in the partial structural collapse.
OSU campus police reported the injured to include three Schottenstein Center workers — Kyle W. Davis, Leonard G. Devrijer and Steven J. Meyers, and one Live Nation crew member, Andrew J. Gammon of Nashville, TN.
The point of impact between the forklift and the stage structure was toward the back of the stage, according to campus police.
The concert had been the kick-off to Bryan’s 18-stop That’s My Kind of Night tour. The accident, which happened just a few minutes after midnight on Jan. 17, forced the postponement of Bryan’s show set for later that day in Lexington, KY; it’s now slated for Feb. 21, 2014.
