DENVER – Mountain Light Company helped the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DCPA) promote Traces at the Stage Theatre with an installation of color-changing LED fixtures washing the DCPA building's curving exterior with a subtle light show, changing the building from aqua to royal blue several times a minute. Mountain Light used five Philips Color Kinetics ColorReach fixtures, mounting them to three exterior lighting poles. Using custom brackets built by the DCPA scene shop, the ColorReaches illuminate the building's western façade.
The ColorReach fixtures were chosen in part for their long throw distance (up to 500 feet) and energy efficiency (they require only 300 watts of power).
"Our company moved our offices to Denver just over one year ago, and we are proud to help promote the Arts in our new home," said John Fuller, principal of Mountain Light Company. "By adding color to the Denver skyline, we hope to enliven and enlighten people to the possibilities that LED lighting offers. We'd love to see the entire theatre district illuminated with energy efficient and beautiful LEDs."
"Our event team at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts creates, collaborates, designs and delivers over 200 unique events a year," added Dawn Williams, director, Venue Sales and Operations, for the DCPA. "We are thrilled to partner with our new friends and colleagues at Mountain Light Company; we have been impressed and wowed by their team spirit, professionalism and vision. We look forward to many bright events down the road."
