ANAHEIM, CA – Celebrated rock concert photographer Neal Preston, author of Exhilarated and Exhausted, will present several awards at the 2018 Parnelli Awards dinner on Friday, Jan. 26 at the Anaheim Hilton. He will also sign copies of his book, and a sampling of his framed photos will be available via silent auction with proceeds benefiting Behind the Scenes.

Preston’s photographs of Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Who and Bruce Springsteen, among many others, have been heralded as among the most iconic rock photos of all time, and Exhilarated and Exhausted offers a thorough retrospective on the photographer’s 40-year career. It also features a forward by film director and Rolling Stone writer Cameron Crowe.

Along with being on hand to sign copies of the book, which will be available for sale during the cocktail hour before the awards dinner and during the after-show party, Preston will offer six framed and matted photographs for sale by silent auction, with proceeds to benefit Behind the Scenes, the foundation that gives financial aid to those in our industry who have suffered financial hardship from accidents and illnesses. The donation of the income from the sales of books and pictures will be administered by the Lightpower Collection.

“I am delighted to be a part of this amazing event – I have toured with so many Parnelli winners past and present, it will be like a homecoming for me,” said Preston.

The awards ceremony, held during Winter NAMM, begins at 7 p.m. after a cocktail reception kicks things off at 6 p.m., and will also include an after-party. The gala, hosted by renowned bassist Tony Levin, honors Bobby “Boomer” Thrasher, Jonathan Smeeton and John Stadius with this year’s Lifetime Achievement, Visionary and Audio Innovator awards.
