LAS VEGAS — The votes are in! No, not for Jill Stein, Gary Johnson and, um… Who were the other two people running for President? No, we’re talking about the Parnelli Awards, of course. Voting wrapped up Sept. 30 as readers of PLSN and FRONT of HOUSE magazines chose the people, companies and products that will share the limelight on Oct. 22 along with Richard Fernandez, Danny O’Bryen and Greg Mackie, this year’s Parnelli Lifetime Achievement, Visionary and Audio Innovator award winners, respectively.
Parnelli Week festivities begin with the PLSN/FOH Parnelli Golf Tournament, which returns to the scenic Siena Club in Las Vegas on Oct. 20. Old pros and newbies are welcome to participate in this event, where the top three teams get trophies and bragging rights and the most challenged team gets a set of tennis racquets. The event kicks off bright and early with check-in opening at 7 a.m. Participants can choose between the driving range, putting contest and continental breakfast when they first arrive. The tournament gets underway with 8 a.m. shotgun start.
The Parnelli Awards gala follows on Oct. 22, at the Rio Hotel and Casino. Hosted by Grammy nominated composer/guitarist Adrian Belew, the evening begins with the 7 p.m. Parnelli Cocktail Party. The banquet dinner and awards starts at 8 p.m., and the Parnelli After Party follows immediately after Richard Fernandez is presented with his Lifetime Achievement honor (see story, page 74).
The 2016 gala is the 16th annual awards ceremony.
