LAS VEGAS – In the U.S., the month of November has long been associated with voting, and while the month is still young, a large volume of votes have already poured in since the Parnelli Awards ballot was posted last week. Voting will continue until early December. If you haven’t already done so, check out all the nominees at parnelliawards.com and let your voice be heard. Vote today!
Among the ballot’s nominees are the regional winners of the Hometown Hero competition. They include East Coast Lighting & Production Services (Northeast), Music Matters Productions (Southeast), Vincent Lighting Systems (Midwest), Northern Lights (Northwest), Eggshell Light Co. (Southwest) and Orange Frog Productions (Canada).
Along with the ability to cast your vote for your favorite Hometown Hero contender, you can help decide who among the nominees in all the other awards categories gets the next Parnelli nod, including this year’s best lighting designer, lighting director, set/scenic designer, video director, tour manager and production manager. There are also awards honoring companies involved in lighting, sound, staging, set construction, video, rigging, pyro, trucking and freight forwarding, along with Indispensable Technology “IT” awards for products advancing the state of the art in lighting, video, staging and sound.
All the votes will be tallied in late December, and the winners will join special honorees in the winners circle during the Jan. 17 ceremony at the Anaheim Hilton in Anaheim, CA during Winter NAMM 2020. This year’s career honorees include Mark Spring (Lifetime Achievement Award), Michael T. Strickland (Visionary Award) and Karrie Keyes (Audio Innovator Award.)
The 19th annual ceremony, hosted by prolific singer/songwriter John Waite, kicks off on Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. with the pre-show cocktail party followed by the dinner and awards ceremony at 7 p.m. and the after party at 10 p.m.
