With more than 30 years of experience in laser programming, show design, and live production, he brings a wealth of expertise and a visionary spirit to the Pyrotecnico family.
David began his career at Aura Technologies under laser industry pioneers Steve Heminover and Jackie Kling, where he gained a strong foundation in both technical mastery and creative leadership. He then spent nearly three decades at Strictly FX, where he played a key role in developing custom gear, mentoring creative teams, and evolving workflows to match the rapidly changing demands of the touring and live events industry.
Over the course of his career, David has been instrumental in the visual design of performances for Coldplay, David Gilmour, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, and more. He is particularly proud of: contributing the iconic flying pink flamingo seen in Pangolin’s Beyond software and designing Coldplay’s first-ever full-color spectrum runway effect—an ambitious feat debuted in Argentina.
A lifelong laser artist and effects collaborator, David has built a reputation for blending disciplines to craft stunning, show-defining moments. “My favorite part of this work is being conversant across different effect specialties—getting all the pieces to play together and create something unforgettable,” he says.
After collaborating with Pyrotecnico leaders Bob Ross, Rocco Vitale, and Stephen Vitale on recent projects, David was drawn to the company’s bold creative culture and all-in team spirit. “It sounds cheesy, but it’s the camaraderie. The team here is strong, the energy is real, and the opportunities to do new, crazy things in incredible places—it’s exactly where I want to be.”
