MONTREAL – McGill University used Quadro C8 fixtures from RED Lighting during the 2013 Christmas season.

More details from RED Lighting (www.red-lighting.com):

MONTREAL – Red is Christmas like the official color of McGill University and RED Lighting as well! The partnership the University of Montréal – the only one outside the US and UK included in the list of the 20 best universities in the world – made with the Italian entertainment lighting seems to be written in destiny. The project to illuminate for holidays the Mac Campus received unanimous approval and the merit also goes to the role S.F. Marketing, the sole Canadian distributor of RED Lighting, played in it.

Before Christmas 2013, the trees of McGill Campus were decked out with standard lights hanging on branches, but the acquaintance of a LED product like QUADRO C8 entirely designed and tested in Italy by RED Lighting completely changed the perspective: from an aesthetic point of view, because the beam of the fixture “washes” the trees with light in an extremely homogeneous way, and from performance point of view, because the IP65 protection degree allows its use even outdoor, at the low temperatures that characterize the winter months in Quebec.

COB (Chip on Board) is the acronymous of the technology which makes so special the selected sources and allows to mount them directly on a flat circuit board at an imperceptible distance from each other. This evokes the impression of one common light source: the effect is incredibly homogeneous, the colours are bold and deep as never before.

Given the debut of the new lighting in the Christmas time red can be maybe considered a logical choice. As for the future, QUADRO C8 will give life to other colored performances, to underline through the light the most meaningful moments of the academic year.
