BRONX, NY — Before the Star Spangled Banner, viewers of Game 2 of the World Series at Yankees Stadium heard Jay-Z and Alicia Keys perform Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind,” with Select Artists Associates providing the roll-on stage and audio system for the performance. Both the performance and game were broadcast on the Fox Network.
This wasn’t the first time SAA managed to meet the needs of a production involving critical time constraints and the need to protect hallowed turf.
The MLB has relied upon SAA for the past seven All-Star Game on-field productions, and the Yankees familiarity with SAA includes the 2008 All-Star Game during the final season in the original Yankee Stadium.
Game 2 of the 2009 World Series posted an 11.7 household rating and 19 share with 18.9 million viewers on FOX. The Yankees Game 2 victory evened the Series at one game each.
