PORT CHESTER, NY – Reviving a historic venue such as the Capitol Theater is no easy task. This is the place where Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead, Traffic and Janis Joplin, amongst so many others, graced during the early 70’s when the Capitol became a symbol of the psychedelic era.
The Capitol Theater first opened in August 1926 as a “dignified playhouse with great decorative beauty and luxurious comfort.”
Completely state-of-the-art sound, lighting and video projection systems were a must for John Dindas, production manager at the Capitol Theater. The installation includes 18x16K high definition projectors projecting on Screen Goo, which has been painted on the space around the ceiling dome, one of the chief architectural features of the theater, to produce breathtaking moments during a show.
