NASHVILLE — The sixth annual Touring Career Workshop will take place on Nov. 9, 2016 at Soundcheck Nashville Annex at 6 p.m. Registration is open now for the 2016 event, which is expected to be the biggest to date.

Every year touring industry heavyweights provide attendees with invaluable information and this year will be no exception. Areas of expertise covered this year includes getting into the industry, retirement options for touring professionals, part time parenting, freelance opportunities and contracts, tax information including per diems and write offs, staying fit while on the road and many other topics. Speakers include Erik Leighty (Paramore, Miranda Lambert, Alice In Chains), Mark Miles, (Miranda Lambert, IEBA and Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp), Jim Runge, (The Black Keys, Major Lazor, Empire of the Sun) and Randy Fletcher, Keith Urban’s production manager, will present a keynote presentation on the evolvement of the touring industry.
Touring Career Workshop is a free event for music industry professionals that gives “roadies” the necessary human resources to sustain a career in the music touring business. TCW, founded by Chris Lisle and Erik Parker in 2011, was designed to serve and educate their colleagues in the touring music industry. The event has grown from fifty attendees to over 300 in 2015. The 2016 event is slated to be the biggest event yet.
