Sonnenfeld to Chair Panel at NATEAC 2012

NEW YORK – Industry veteran Sonny Sonnenfeld has joined the conference panel list for NATEAC 2012, set for the Hilton here July 22-23. Sonnenfeld, who joins  ETC’s Mark Vassallo, Jonathan Resnick of Barbizon and Bob Lorelli of Robert Lorelli Associates, will discuss the art and science of dealing with manufacturers’ reps when outfitting a new performance space.

NEW YORK – Sonny Sonnenfeld, the legendary salesman and an icon of the lighting manufacturing industry, will speak at the North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (NATEAC) 2012 July 22-23 at the Hilton New York. Sonnenfeld, along with ETC’s Mark Vassallo, Jonathan Resnick of Barbizon and Bob Lorelli of Robert Lorelli Associates, will discuss the art and science of dealing with manufacturers’ reps when outfitting a new performance space.

“Sonny has been in this industry longer than most of us have been alive,” said conference director Bill Sapsis.  “It’s a terrific opportunity for anyone who wants to hear how things were done before, how they’re done now and what’s in store for the future.”

Sonnenfeld’s career in the entertainment industry began when he was discharged from the army in 1945.  He started out with Century Lighting as a sales engineer and over the years has worked with a number of companies including L&E and ETC.  He is currently a consultant with City Theatrical.  He has also written extensively for industry magazines.
