Soundcheck Austin Partners with SHS Global on Annual Toy Drive

AUSTIN, TX — The fifth annual SoundCheck Austin Toy Drive and Holiday Party, held Dec. 12, drew more than 400 people in the entertainment industry and raised more than $10,000 in toys and donations for Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace, non-profit organizations that support victims of domestic violence and provide for the needs of homeless children.

“A party of this size wouldn’t happen without the support from the tenants. In Austin, we have tenants such as SHS Global, The Electric Company, Fender, Peavey and BearCom contributing their resources, while in Nashville we have Christie Lites, Meyer Sound, MooTV, Crew One Productions, and many others all working together to put on a spectacular party each year,”

The Soundcheck Austin House Band, consisting of members from Dangerous Toys, Eric Johnson, Dexter Freebish and Austin’s own Vallejo, performed at this year’s event.While artist such as Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel, Dale Watson, and Ian McLagan have all provided entertainment in the past years; the Soundcheck Austin House Band, consisting of members from Dangerous Toys, Eric Johnson, Dexter Freebish and Austin’s own Vallejo, performed at this year’s event.

SHS Global and Christie Lites’ Dallas location supplied a semi-permanent 20-inch truss grid and CM motor system for this year’s event. Nashville-based Premier Global Production also supported the Austin event’s stage lighting needs. The rig included SHS Global’s own TourPro LED Pars, GLP X4’s, Solaris Flares and Clay Paky Sharpys, and SHS Global partners Xtreme Structures and Fabrication (XSF) and CM Motors are providing a permanent structure and rigging system, to be installed by the end of January 2015.

This will help complete their vision of product accessibility, production style demos and full scale training at the Soundcheck facility. SHS Global and SoundCheck Austin will also be hosting as series of events and product training in Q1 of 2015.
