ATLANTA — The fifth annual Stage Lighting Super Saturday, an all-day lighting workshop, is set for Jan. 16 at the North Springs Charter School for Arts and Sciences, 7447 Roswell Road (at Dalrymple Road) in Atlanta. The 10-hour workshop, which includes presentations and hands-on time with new lighting gear, will also include a session led by Broadway designer Eric Cornwell called "Computer Aided Design and Pre-vizualization." Cornwell will discuss lighting in both the virtual setting and from the point of view of the lighting designer at the tech table.

Cornwell has been the lighting designer and production director for Mandy Patinkin's concerts on Broadway and on tour for the last 20 years. He has also designed lighting and developed theatrical software for 25 years. Along with Broadway productions, he has designed lighting for dance, opera, and permanent installations.

The workshop is geared towards anyone interested in stage, theatrical, and

architectural lighting. Tuition is $150 for the all-day sessions, which start at 8 a.m. An early bird discount of $50 will be extended for registrations received before Dec. 31, and group rates for five or more are also available.
