NASHVILLE — AEG Live/TMG Nashville issued a press release noting that, out of an “abundance of caution” relating to “a technical issue with the stage,” a July 12 concert featuring Harry Connick, Jr.  at the Fontanel Mansion here had to be canceled. Refunds were offered to arriving ticketholders and others at the point of purchase; those purchasing tickets via ticketmaster.com received automated refunds.

“I love being on tour, so I’m very sad I won’t be able to perform, but safety always come first,” Connick said, on his website, which referred to “a damaged structural section of the stage” without further elaboration.

The structural issue was apparently resolved in time for a July 13 concert at the mansion complex’s amphitheatre. That event featured the Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five and Guster.

The Fontanel Mansion complex, which served as the 136-acre residence of country music’s Barbara Mandrell in the 1980s, now houses a museum, restaurant and walking trails along with the 4,500-capacity amphitheatre.
