TORONTO, Canada – From working on pre-game shows for the NHL to installing score boards, digital display and advanced sound systems in arenas across Canada, Solotech is a solutions provider leader in heightening hockey experiences for fans and players. Therefore, when the iconic Hockey Hall of Fame (HHOF) in Toronto mandated Solotech to equip its hockey rink with both a LED power ring and banner, the audio, lighting and video company was thrilled.
More details from Solotech (www.solotech.com):
Among many things, you can find in Toronto’s HHOF: the Stanley Cup, rare collectible player cards and a scaled down hockey rink where you can test your shooting skills.
The LED screen ring that floats on top of the score board was supplied, installed and commissioned by Solotech. The result is a seamless 4mm resolution video disk with a 10 meter circumference. Also, in the background of the rink an 18 meter banner with a 6mm pitch was installed. Displaying logos and animations, it completes the look of the stadium.
“Designing both pieces of equipment was technologically intricate because we were building scaled down versions and starting from scratch. Manufacturing the ring part of the score board with a 4mm pitch was the biggest challenge because it is a round structure with a tight curve”, says Marc Bureau, senior integration consultant on the project for Solotech.
In summary, the additions bring more realism to the environment. When immersed in the crowd cheering rink, fans can feel the excitement of a stadium and a glimpse of a NHL player’s experience.
