DONALDSONVILLE, LA — Doug Thorpe of Wyndchaser Lighting was looking to update the house lighting for 110-year-old Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church. He opted for Mega-Lite UniColor fixtures with warm white LEDs to replace the building’s old halogen lighting.
A total of 25 fixtures were installed in the ceiling throughout the front end of the church. Thorpe chose the UniColor because of the ability to tailor the fixture to his needs. He selected units with two different housing colors and a few different beam angles. Fixtures with black housings were installed in areas where it was very dark and white housings in areas where they would blend in with the architecture. The silent feature was also important when selecting UniColor as any sound produced would be amplified by their location in the ceiling.
