CARSON, CA— Wango Tango, held at the Stub Hub Center May 14, once again presented audiences with an all-star lineup, as the event’s organizers have strived to do since the event began in 1998. Visions Lighting was there again this year providing a majority of the events’ structural and visual elements for the line-up, which included Ariana Grande, Gwen Stefani, Meghan Trainor, Fifth Harmony and other top acts. The day-long concert is sponsored by Los Angeles radio station KIIS-FM.
More details from Visions (www.visionslighting.com):
The event, sponsored by LA’s #1 Hit Music Station KIIS FM and produced by AEG, was a sell out again this year and the performances and production did not disappoint. “We designed the rig this year with a lot more video eye-candy covering the stage top to bottom and side to side,” said Todd Roberts, President of Visions Lighting, “We wanted the ability to control the content on the circle trusses above, the central LED Screen, LED Ribbons across the back of the stage, and the fronts of the DJ booths.
There was so much video color, content and movement, even for the acts that were in broad daylight which normally don’t get that kind of visual support.” The Visions Video Team did an amazing job this year not only prepping and installing but also executing a flawless LED and Light show for each of the artist and the crowd.
After the darkness fell and the lighting could be seen in full strength, the stage was just unbelievable! Programmed by Brandon Dunning on a Grand MA 2 Full console, the show was a constant spectacle. “Each artist or group on the line-up is a headliner in their own right, we needed to bring our “A” game, gear and team to the show that has so much exposure and press,” said Roberts, “there was no room for error. These artists had 30 minutes or less to showcase their best, and we need to support them with our best.”
