NORFOLK, VA – Occupying 2.8 acres along the city's waterfront, Town Point Park was recently renovated by the City of Norfolk. The renovation included a lighting installation by Blue Steel Lighting Design from Virginia Beach, Va. that includes Anolis LED gear. After creating a blueprint for the project, Blue Steel Lighting specified Anolis ArcSource Inground 12 RGB LED fixtures for the project. Stage Right Lighting, also from Virginia Beach, handled the engineering and installation for a total of 166 of the fixtures, which uplight 83 trees in the park.
The Anolis gear was chosen for light quality, efficiency, low power consumption and ease of maintenance.
At sunset, the color-changing fixtures are activated, running through pre-programmed sequences that can adapt to the needs of festivals, concerts, and other special events taking place in the park during the course of the year.
