SALT LAKE CITY – Wenger and JR Clancy were on site at the USITT show in Salt Lake City March 17-19 to display some of their unique products. Custom staging, audience seating, variable acoustics and rigging solutions were demonstrated for the crowd on the show floor. One highlight was a new interface for J.R. Clancy’s SceneControl line of computerized rigging controllers, pictured here.

More details from Wenger and JR Clancy (www.wengercorp.com) and J.R. Clancy (www.jrclancy.com):

Single Source Audience Seating from Wenger

Wenger highlighted a variety of seating models, price points, finishes and options, from entry-level to premium. For any project, Wenger provides a single point of contact and full-service solution – from selection and budgeting through layout and installation. Wenger’s seating lounge at USITT featured a selection of fixed and portable seating options.

Custom Staging Showcase by Wenger

For the first time at USITT or any convention, Wenger displayed a variety of custom options to highlight the flexibility of its StageTek™ staging. Visitors to Wenger’s booth saw a wide selection of decks in different shapes, colors and surfaces, with accessories including drink rails and guardrails. Wenger can design and manufacture staging to suit virtually any application.

Affordable Variable Acoustics: Wenger Solutions

With its new products Transcend and Transform at USITT, Wenger provides options for variable acoustics, helping theatre professionals make their performance spaces truly multipurpose: able to host a variety of events from spoken word to rock concerts and symphonies, and anything in between.

Transcend™ Active Acoustics improves the uniformity of sound throughout the performance space. Even formerly problematic areas like under the balcony or in the rear of the balcony can enjoy good acoustics. This state-of-the-art, yet affordable, system was developed in cooperation with HARMAN specifically for active acoustics, using premium components including Crown amplifiers, JBL speakers and Lexicon processors.

Like Transcend, Transform™ Acoustical Banners also provide variable acoustics for performance venues, but the two products offer different approaches. Transform Banners add sound absorption from motorized fabric banners that help reduce reverberation time, especially for “live” spaces. Transcend does the opposite – adding reverberation time to acoustically “dead” spaces.

The Right Rigging Control Systems from J.R. Clancy @USITT

At USITT, J.R. Clancy offered booth visitors a new and exciting way to learn about and interact with its SceneControl® line of computerized rigging controllers. J.R. Clancy has a SceneControl console for performance spaces of every size, from the most complex performing arts center, sporting complex or Broadway show to the high school, church and college stage.
