ZZ Top Supported by Bandit Lights

Share this Post:

HOUSTON – ZZ Top got its start about 40 years ago. So did Bandit Lites. And while the length of the typical American sideburn has shortened considerably since the shaggy early 1970s, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill sport beards that are as long as ever. In 2010, Bandit Lites once again supported the lighting needs of the band, with Bandit VP Michael Golden once again working with tour manager Pablo Gamboa, production manager Rob Kern and longtime lighting designer Chris Stuba.

The touring rig includes Vari*Lite VL 3000 Spots, VL 3500 Washes, VL 2500 Spots, Martin MAC 2000 Washes, Atomic Strobes and Color Blasts controlled by grandMA consoles.

Bandit's Jeff Archibeque also joined  Gibbons, Hill and the less-hirsute Frank Beard on tour as they managed to deliver high-energy shows while barely moving at all onstage.
