Ancient Ruins on Isle of Man Lit with GDS LiteWare, Chauvet Fixtures

Share this Post:

ISLE of MAN — Rushen Abbey, a Medieval ruin and heritage site on this island in the Irish Sea, was recently transformed by hire and event specialists Event Lighting Services (ELS), which used 12 GDS LiteWare UL fixtures and five COLORado 3 outdoor-rated LED wash fixtures from Chauvet.

ELS was commissioned to light the ruins, which date back to 1134, as a backdrop for a private wedding party at the site. The fixtures helped ELS comply with restrictions on running cable, using generators and rigging gear around the site.

GDS LiteWare UL fixtures are battery-powered RGB uplighters with wireless DMX control via W-DMX or SHoW DMX. They provide free-standing controllable light sources with up to 25 hours run time (16 hours run time for HO version). The wireless fixtures are available in UL 40W or HO 80W versions and are IP45 rated for internal or external use.

The fixtures can be used individually, where they are charged by an individual power supply, or multiple fittings can be charged in LiteWare’s custom 4- or 6-way charging flightcase.
