DUBLIN – Management at the newly-rebuilt Aviva Stadium, a 50,000-seat venue that hosts rugby, soccer and other events, were a bit apprehensive about using LumenRadio's CRMX RDM wireless system to control eight Syncrolite 7K Xenon fixtures during the sold-out Magners League rugby game. But show manager Rob Jones at Gorilla Design confirmed that "the entire event went off without a hitch." The stadium, also known as the Dublin Arena, is the only facility in the country with UEFA Elite classification. It was refitted with new wireless broadcast and security systems before the doors reopened in May 2010.
Radio spectrum issues and interference have been hot topics, but LumenRadio's CRMX, with its Automated Cognitive Coexistence, proved that it could coexist with all the other wireless systems present in the facility. The system's RDM functionality provided real-time monitoring. All the equipment was provided and supported by EQ Lighting in Dublin.
