LONDON – Avolites announces its involvement in the Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the Olympic Stadium in London.

There were 2 Ai Infinity servers and 2 Sapphire Media consoles providing the control and back-up for the Immersive Team to map and control the 80,000 x 9 pixel mini screens in each seat, as seen in the Opening Ceremony, producing the world’s largest video screen.

The rest of the Avolites Media Ai control and back-up system comprised of 2 Sapphire Media Consoles, 2 Ai Infinity Servers and 28 Ai Miami licences running on CT servers. These controlled the four large audience screens and a projection mapping show as never been seen before!

Each stadium seat was fitted with a ‘pixel tablet’, each with 9 LEDs created by Tait Technologies. It took two months to install the tablets and used 197 miles of cable.  Crystal CG created the content.

In the stadium’s control room were Dave Green, Trey Harrison, Mark Calvert , Martin Harvey and JB Toby. Enjoying the spectacle live in the stadium were John Munro, Steve Warren, Louise Green and Miriam Calvert.
