Bright Star, headed by Ibrahim Madani, implemented a design by Hattan Madani, who was also Bright Star’s site and project manager for the event. Over the course of a four-day build, Bright Star’s team of riggers, plus a local crew, built the stage and structure that included a 50-meter-diameter circular truss surrounding the perimeter of the presentation space.
The circular truss also supported a curving projection screen, used together with an 18-meter-diameter round stage. The circular stage was extended on two sides to 29 meters in length, and the audience seated in front were wrapped nearly 270 degrees around the presentation area.
Twelve ground-supported towers were used to keep the 50-meter circular truss aloft, 8.5 meters high — the highest possible position that the room’s ceiling height allowed.
Milos QuickTruss M390L, designed for large spans and for quick setup with conical connectors, pins and R-clips, was used to construct the circle. The towers were from Milos’ MT2 range, with the circular truss joined to the MT2 towers via sleeve blocks with custom adaptor plates.
Bright Star built the stage from a combination of Milos xStages S8W products and some custom components fabricated to form the rounded stage elements specified by the client. Adjustable legs helped the crew ensure proper leveling.
