BRIT School Benefits from New Avolites Gear

LONDON — The BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology received a Tiger Touch and Titan Mobile for their performance spaces, part of a deal coordinated between PRG UK CEO Martin Locket, Avolites sales director Steve Warren, and also BRIT School’s Andrew Smith, (technical manager) and Guy Lovegrove (production manager).

Warren and Locket noted the mutual benefits associated with Avolites and PRG UK’s involvement with the student’s development.

“Many graduates from the course now work for PRG or alongside us in many ways,” Locket said. “I am particularly glad to have introduced Steve Warren to the school and that he and the Avo team are so enthusiastic to get involved on many levels.

“The students have had access to a theatre stack desk but were desperately lacking in something more appropriate for live music,” Locket continued. “The Tiger Touch and Titan Mobile will provide this for them and the overall package of hardware and training from Avo will benefit them greatly and complement the support that PRG are providing.”

“The nature of the course here at BRIT is such that the Technical Theatre Arts students are required to work to as near professional standards as possible,” said Lovegrove. “The staff they work with are industry-based, helping to ensure that these standards are met.”

The first use of the new control consoles was used for this year’s 20th anniversary concert at BRIT, with lighting design and operation led by PRG’s Luke Jackson.
