SHANGHAI, China – Clay Paky has joined its Chinese partner, ACE, in organizing a Open Day for over 100 lighting and sound professionals at the Shanghai World Expo. ACE, which has supported events and ceremonies related to the World Expo with crew and gear, invited lighting designers from China's TV and events markets to the event. Attendees got backstage access at the Expo and could view Clay Paky's latest gear, including Alpha 700 and 1500 series luminaries.
At the opening ceremony that launched the Expo in April, Clay Paky was the only non-Chinese brand of lighting. The event, lit by LD Sha Xiaolan, used more than 350 Alpha 1500s.
Alberico D'Amato, sales manager at Clay Paky, paid tribute to ACE's director, Bingo Tso. "We couldn't have asked for a stronger partner in China," D'Amato said. "We are extremely proud of our 15-year long relationship with ACE. They are the clear leaders in the region and widely respected for their skill and professionalism. We feel confident that the success our products are currently enjoying here will continue for many years to come."
