LONDON – Three Phantoms brings popular West End and Broadway musicals such as Phantom of the Opera to U.K. musical theatre fans, and Complete Production Solutions (CPS) has included PR Lighting fixtures in the rig for the shows, which are being performed in venues seating between 1,000 and 2,000 people. Three Phantoms is the brainchild of Ginger Boy Productions' Earl Carpenter, a veteran West End performer who also appears in the show. Chris Caton is the LD and technical supervisor, and he complements the generic house rigs with six CPS-supplied PR Lighting XL1200s, four Sunstrip Active effects and an Avolites Pearl Expert console for control.
Caton credits the XL1200, which features a 1200W short arc discharge lamp, for its "great color spectrum and three gobo wheels" and its "really wide zoom, which is also extremely useful" and calls the CTO "great."
Stuart Meech is able to use the Avolites Pearl Expert to program and build saturated color palettes using the XL1200s.
