DUBAI – Eclipse Staging Services purchased two Green Hippo Hippotizer V4 Taiga media servers to add to their video inventory. Simon Harris, Green Hippos User Experience / Training manager went out to Dubai at the end of September to provide the busy video crew at Eclipse with three days of Hippotizer media server training. The company has been active in the expansion of its AV solutions in Africa as well.

The Eclipse video team were in the middle of supplying and setting up full technical production for Dubai Music Week, so it was convenient for them to be able to have training at their video warehouse. “I thoroughly enjoyed training the video team from eclipse. They took to Hippotizer V4 like ducks to water and to see the product quickly exceed their high expectations was an absolute pleasure. Eclipse have a very talented team of technicians and I can’t wait to read about the projects they use their systems on in the near future,” commented Simon Harris, Head of Training at Green Hippo.
Head of Video for Eclipse, Lee Worthington, commented: “I’m very happy we’ve taken this step further towards innovative video and projection solutions. Not long after the training sessions Eclipse took 1 of their new V4 Taiga’s out for its first job; The Infinity Car Launch for Q80 Inspiration & Q60 Concept models.The V4 Taiga was used to drive 517 Panels of 3.9mm LED creating a screen 23.5MTR x 5.5MTR screen with overall pixel count of 6016 x 1408, providing a stunning backdrop for the luxury brands launch.
“The HIPPO came into its own on this project as the TAIGA’s high quality hardware paired with the flexibility of the Output manager to send a large pixel count to several LED processors, all from the 1 unit made managing a large screen much easier compared to other smaller servers. We’re excited to see how these new media servers can broaden our capabilities in our coming projects and in turn allow us to continually supply a top notch industry-leading service,” concluded Worthington.

Simon Harris went out to Dubai to conduct a very successful 3 day training course for the video crew at eclipse Staging Service, who had recently purchased two V4 Taiga media servers. Tom Etra flew out to attend InfoComm Middle East and Africa at the end of October where he was on the Martin Professional stand, showing the implementation of the new P3- PC system controller and Green Hippo’s Hippotizer media servers. This integration unlocks the power of Martin’s creative video solutions in smaller shows and events.
After the InfoComm show Tom went on to visit the offices of both Martin Professional Middle East and Venutech to provide training and demo on V4 and SHAPE. He then went onto visit a few of our other partners Sultan Thomas from Wide Angle, who is very busy with Hippotizer shows in Lebanon and Dubai and very happy with his 2 x V4 Taiga, purchases recently. Before then seeing Shadi and Vinny from Extreme Productions, who have just moved into their new offices to demo the advanced and new features of V4.

He rounded off his trip with a quick visit to eclipse Staging Services too, to check they were happy with their training and to discuss a few future projects and plans.
