DAMASCUS, Syria – Hamsho Group International, owners of the new Yafour Hotel & Resort, contracted with Ammar Jano of Jano for Lighting, who used the white marble façade of the six-story hotel as a projection surface lit by SGM's IP55-rated Palco 5 architectural LED fixture. Each energy-efficient Palco 5 RGB comes with 12 Blue, 24 Green and 13 Red 4.5W K2 LEDs and an interchangeable lens. Jano mounted 18 of these fixtures on the ground and at roof level to deliver a crossfade color wash.
Jano also provided a lighting design and gear for the hotel's 500-capacity banquet room, which gets used for weddings, conferences and other formal occasions.
There, he specified 12 IDEA Spot 575s and 10 IDEA LED 300 moving heads, which come with 108 3W LEDs, 100,000-hour lamp life, color mixing and choice of lenses (39.5° beam angle standard). Jano also specified 18 ceiling-mounted Palco 3 color-changing fixtures with 25° lenses.
Jano also provided SGM Powerlight 1212D 12-channel dimmer control, Flasher DMX 1.5 strobe and a Varismoke II DMX smoke machine for the dance floor.
The lighting gear is programmed to be operated by non-technical staff, and the installation has garnered a positive response from the resort operators.
