TEL AVIV, Israel — The grand opening of the first phase of Ariel Sharon Park took place in May, with LD Gil Teichman using 90 Fine Art Fine99 Xenon 4K fixtures, 75 Robe ColorSpot 2500E ATs and six kilometers of incandescent lamp chain to complement the landscape, all controlled by Wireless Solution Sweden AB’s W-DMX.

The event also featured laser effects using five Pangolin Laser Designer 2000 laser projectors using 2, 4 and 8 watt green and RGB lasers, run by Ronen Aricha and Russell Abel of Showdesign.

The park is built atop the Hiriya Landfill, which was Israel’s biggest garbage dump while it was in service from 1952 to 1998. The park is expected to expand in later phases to exceed New York’s Central Park in size by 2020, offering recreational opportunities, a 50,000-capacity amphitheatre and huge recycling facility.
