BLACKBURN, U.K. – HSL recently purchased 12 Robert Juliat Lancelot 4K followspots from U.K. distributors White Light, part of HSL's £2.5 million investment in the last quarter of 2010 to service its ongoing work. "We have been very happy with the reliability of all the Robert Juliat products purchased over the years and with the support from RJ and White light," said HSL MD Simon Stuart.
"HSL has always liked the Robert Juliat range for its quality and good engineering," added HSL's Mike Oates. "We already operate about 40 RJ followspots, including Ivanhoe, Manon and Cyranos, along with some of the smaller RJ fixtures.
Oates noted that the investment reflects growing demand for larger followspots from the company's rental inventory, due to an increase in the role the company plays in supplying large scale tours and events.
Oates also credited Robert Juliat and White Light for "excellent" service and support.
"We are very happy to work with HSL," said White Light's Peter Threadgold. "The discussions for this deal started earlier in the year, and it's great to see how rental companies are valuing this equipment."
Robert Juliat touts the Lancelot for its light output and flat beam, narrow zoom, fully closing iris and dimming quality. Practicalities like the unit being able to travel with the lamp in place make it well-suited for touring applications and HSL's work in the "special event" sector.
Known for being smooth to control, the fixture can also be adjusted to meet individual user needs via a set of onboard plug-and-play accessories, including the choice of manual or DMX control.
