KRONACH, Germany – For 10 days in July, the old city of Kronach lit up with contemporary lighting for the seventh annual light festival, “Kronach Shines.” More than 80,000 visitors were drawn to the luminous creations around town, which used more than 1,000 light sources and 10 km of cable. Steinigke Showtechnic helped support the project with LD Andreas Jung.

KRONACH, Germany –  For 10 days in July, the city of Kronach, Germany presented itself in a special light with “Kronach Shines,” a lighting festival now in its seventh year. More than 80,000 visitors enjoyed the luminous creations designed by seven light artists and a working group of students from five nations. Directed by Italian LD Andrea Mantello, the
whole city was placed in the limelight – the fortress, the town moats, narrow alleys and central squares.

There were 14 “worlds” and 19 points of light with over 1,000 luminous sources and more than 10 km of cable installed in the town.

A special destination was the Melchior-Otto-Platz. With support from Steinigke Showtechnic, LD Andreas Jung from Jung4 Light Concepts installed an “illusory world”: a light show on two opposing buildings, synchronized to music.

“Kronach Shines” is a project of the league “Kronach creativ.” The Fête des Lumières in Lyon serves as model for the spectacular.
