FRANKFURT, Germany – Luminale 2010, Lighting Culture Biennale took place from April 11 to 16, running in parallel to the Light+Building trade fair. Over 150 artistic lighting installations, open to the public, were on display in Frankfurt and Offenbach. The displays from about 50 international lighting designers were concentrated in Frankfurt's city center, botanical gardens, museums and parks, including the Wallanlagen medieval wall parks, which marked their 200th anniversary this year. In all, there were 123 events in Frankfurt, 21 projects in nearby Offenbach and six more in Darmstadt.
Light+Building exhibitors supporting the displays included Philips Lighting, Traxon Technologies, Martin Professional, Hess AG, Spectral, RZB, Siteco, iGuzzini, Viabizzuno, Foscarini, Karakassis Lighting, Artemide, Insta, BLV Ushio Group, Zumtobel, hatec and Lutron.
