“Notre-Dame de Paris,” Staged in Switzerland, Lit with Clay Paky Gear

LOCARNO, Switzerland – Notre-Dame de Paris was staged at Palazzetto Fevi by the SFG Biasca gymnastic company. It was performed by 52 gymnasts and six actors with their live singing accompanied by Riccardo Cocciante's recorded music. It was essentially a gymnastic, cultural and artistic show, freely adapted from Victor Hugo's novel. It tells the story of Quasimodo, the hunchback of Notre Dame, and his impossible and tragic love for Esmeralda, a beautiful gypsy girl: a love condemned by injustice and hypocrisy.

Lighting designer Paolo Battaglia of Sound Light Services used only Clay Paky motorized lights to illuminate the show: Stage Zoom 1200s, Alpha Spot HPE 575s, Alpha Wash 300s, Golden Scan 1200s and Shadow Basics.

Paolo Battaglia also illuminated the 2010 edition of the Starlight Circus, known for its acrobatic choreography and accompanying sets, using Clay Paky fixtures, including, for the most recent rendition, Clay Paky Alpha Spot HPE 700s.
