GUANGZHOU, China – For the opening and closing ceremonies of the 16th Asian Games, both lasting longer than 1 hour 40 minutes, PR Lighting accounted for more than 850 of the fixtures used, including more than 400 XL1200 Framing, 200 XL1500 Framing, 150 XL1200 Wash and 100 XL1200 Wash fixtures.

During the preparation for the event, general director Weiya Chen noted that the opening and closing ceremonies should not only be "elegant, creative and unique," but also "multi-dimensional, and provide an all-encompassing festival of artistry and culture."

Xiaolan Sha, general lighting designer for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, who also designed the lighting for the Asian Games opening and closing ceremonies, agreed. "Light is the soul of the stage. Without lighting, the stage will have no vitality or vigor."

The Operations Director, Haoyang Jiang, credited the impact that the PR fixtures were able to achieve. "Having cooperated with PR Lighting at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, we know we could trust in their quality, technology and service – and it was an easy decision to choose them as the major supplier again this time."
