BRUSSELS, Belgium – ArKaos noted recently that Italian lighting manufacturer Music & Lights is incorporating ArKaos’ Kling-Net protocol into a number of their pixel-based Prolights LED fixtures. Kling-Net will be retrofitted into four existing Prolights products, including the Halupix (pictured here), Chromapix, Halurock (pictured below) and Chromarock, with plans to incorporate King-Net into all new Prolights products going forward.
More details from ArKaos (www.arkaos.net):
The Prolights Halurock is based on a 7×7 matrix of high-lumen CREE Warm White LEDs, with a 2800K° colour temperature which recalls the classic effect of the halogen lamp in rock concerts, while the Chromarock LED moving head is based on a 5×5 matrix of high-lumen Osram Ostar RGBW/full colour LEDs, offering a limitless chromatic generation.
Halupix is a 7×7 matrix of high efficiency CREE LEDs with an on-board modular rigging system designed for arrangement into walls or matrixes in every size. These project sharp beams into the air which are brighter than conventional LED screens. Chromapix is the RGBW/full colour LED version with special optic reflectors which allow a unique reproduction of 6° tight light beams.
All of these products have individually-controlled LED sources which can now be managed easily using ArKaos Kling-Net.
“We were moved to look into the ArKaos Kling Net protocol after receiving very exciting feedback from our partners worldwide,” says Prolights’ product manager, Fabio Sorabella. “When we looked at Kling Net we found it to be a product that finally brings an end to the nightmare of complex pixel control. It offers a very friendly but powerful tool that is accessible to every level of user.
“Addressing, mapping and the creation of content become instantly possible with Kling-Net in a way we have never seen before. Thanks to Kling-Net, we expect that more and more users will be drawn to our Prolights Pixel LED lighting product range.”
“We are delighted to welcome Music & Lights to the Arkaos Kling-Net family,” says ArKaos’ Managing Director, Agnes Wojewoda. “The Prolights brand is well-established and has a great reputation throughout Europe. Kling-Net as a protocol is both affordable and easy for the average person to use, providing sophisticated levels of control to video and pixel-related products. We are glad to have the opportunity to work together with Music & Lights to drive the limits of LED technology ever-higher.”
What is Kling-Net?
ArKaos Kling-Net is a unique protocol designed specifically to allow the distribution of real-time video data to remote display devices, like LEDs or LED panels, over Ethernet.
Kling-Net can transform the simplest of LED devices into an intelligent Kling-Net device that can talk to, and be controlled by, a Media Server. Auto configuration of devices upon start up dispenses with the need for complicated set up procedures. The Media Server can then read and change parameters from the device. This makes the whole process extremely fast and easy and minimizes the potential for mistakes!
“Many basic and first time users are afraid of using LED lighting because of the complexity of networking and control issues,” says ArKaos CEO, Marco Hinic. “Traditionally, using and networking LED lighting has required a high level of technical knowledge which has been a deterrent for many. We wanted to remove all this complexity and replace it with a simple to use protocol which automatically takes care of the magic numbers for the user!
“Kling-Net brings LED lighting within reach of even small clubs and venues by making it less technical and less expensive. It opens the market to new lighting designers who have previously been deterred by the technical complexity and expense of LED lighting systems. Kling-Net removes these barriers and makes LED lighting available, easy and fun.”
