SHENZHEN, China – Robert Juliat Cyrano 2500W HMI followspots are being used at two of OCT's Happy Valley theme park resorts in Shenzhen and Chengdu, China. Beijing Feng Shang Shi Ji Culture Art Co., Ltd. were the lighting installers for the theme parks. OCT's Happy Valley theme parks draw crowds with live spectacles fusing song, dance, lights, pyrotechnics, split stages and special effects. Daily performances take place at each of the 10 Happy Valley parks across the country within large purpose-built theatres.

Happy Valley Shenzhen, the site of the first Happy Valley theme park, is now 12 years old and recently took delivery of 12 Robert Juliat Cyrano 2500W HMI followspots.

Robert Juliat Cyrano followspots offer a beam angle of 3°-8° which is well-suited to the long throw distances involved. The Cyrano also has Robert Juliat optics and an ergonomic design popular with lighting designers and operators.

At Happy Valley Chengdu theme park in Sichuan province, which opened in Aug. 2009 (delayed by the major earthquake that hit the region in 2008), two additional Cyrano units light up live shows in the Tian Ji Theater.

The opening celebration featured Chinese singers Sun Nan, Jane Zhang and Black Duck and lighting designed by Beijing Olympics LD Sha Xiaolan, who had also used Robert Juliat followspots – Lancelots and Cyranos – on the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Live entertainment at Happy Valley Chengdu includes the shows Caribbean Pirate, Conscription and Compass, in addition to a number of special events throughout the year, such as the celebrations for Chinese New Year, youth culture and magic.
