MINSK, Belarus — A number of rock bands passing through Belarus recently have started using fixtures from PR Lighting supplied by the Chinese manufacturer’s territory distributors, FE Belimlight. FE Belimlight’s Maxim Yugov confirmed that automated fixtures such as the XL1500 are becoming increasingly popular. FE Belimlight stocks more than a hundred of these heads, which use a 1,500W short arc discharge lamp.
A highlight of the touring season was British rock singer, Chris Norman’s appearance at the Mir Castle complex in Belarus — a gothic building (and UNESCO World Heritage site) which dates back to the 15th century.
Norman’s light show included 48 XL1500 spots and 36 XL1500 wash-lights, as well as 20 XL700 washes.
Leading Russian rock band U-Piter then took their Nau Bum Tour across 70 cities in Russia — again serviced by FE-Belimlight. The touring rig included eight XL 700 spots, eight wash lights, 20 XL1500 spots and 14 XL 1500 wash lights.
Another Russian rock band, Agatha Christie, toured Belarus, playing in the cities of Minsk, Brest, Grodno, Mogilev and Gomel, with lighting reinforcement from 16 XL1500 spots and 18
XL1500 wash lights.
