GOTHENBURG, Sweden — Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl was able to tough it out after falling from the stage and breaking his leg on June 12. But if Grohl managed to return to the stage and perform later in the show despite what would turn out to be a fracture, the band was forced to immediately cancel its next two shows, and by June 16, the band announced that the rest of their tour through Europe would have to be canceled as well, including big gigs at Wembley Stadium in London (June 19-20) and Glastonbury (June 26).
There was no word, however, on whether the band’s shows slated in North America from early July through late October (with a break July 24-25 for shows in Korea and Japan) would be affected by the accident. After a long string of performances throughout North America, the tour is slated to return to Europe for more shows in November.
Fan videos showed Grohl receiving medical treatment during the June 12 show at at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden and performing one of the band’s hits, “All My Life,” with a temporary cast on his leg. A subsequent X-ray confirmed the leg fracture.
