WARSAW, Poland — For the Professional Windsurfers Association’s PWA Indoor Windsurfing World Cup, held at Warsaw’s National Stadium Sept. 5-7, LDs Adam Tyszka and Sebastian Pachciarek used dozens of SGM SixPack pixel arrays in two separate groupings. The IP65 rating for the RGBA LED fixtures helped alleviate water ingress concerns for the fixtures placed closest to the pool.

More details from SGM (www.sgmlight.com):

“Our goal was to create a show that displayed the windsurfing competition in a new and unexpected way,” Pachciarek said. “This type of event is most commonly held on coastal areas, but in this case it was in a pool, specially built for the purpose.”

The second group of SixPacks were very close to the pool, underlining the advertising space on the stadium disc. “The IP65-rating was crucial in the decision to use the SixPacks in such an exposed area,” Pachciarek noted.

Pachiarek also credited the fixture’s LED light sources for “less power consumption,” adding that enhanced durability and a wider range of  lighting looks were other key benefits. The games lasted for three days and more than 40,000 spectators came to cheer.
