Tours for Scorpions, Nena, EAV Lit with PR Lighting XLED 590s

POTSDAM, Germany – Event services company Satis & Fy, with locations throughout Germany and a presence in the Netherlands as well, acquired 28 of PR Lighting's XLED 590 moving head wash lights, which have been used for tours by the Scorpions (with LD Rainer Becker), and, currently, Nena (with LD Vince Foster). Satis & Fy's Werne-based head of lighting and product acquisition, Rudi Luyckx, placed the order with PR Lighting's German distributors, Focon-Showtechnic, after receiving a demonstration. Brightness, affordability and reliability were the three main selling points of the XLED 590. Each incorporate 90 of Osram's Diamond Dragon 5W RGB SMT LEDs.

"Focon asked me to try them, and although the XLED 590s may not originally have been first choice for LDs such as Vince Foster, as soon as he saw them in the warehouse, he was impressed with the brightness. We did some optimization of the beam with Focon, and everyone who has seen them is more than happy to use them."

In addition to Foster and Becker, another LD who has been impressed by the new inventory is Andreas Kisters. For a current tour with Austria's Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung (EAV), he is using the lights as a front band wash and for lighting effects.

Satis & Fy's Luyckx credited the fixtures for versatility. While Rainer Becker is using around 24 heads for lighting effects and as a traditional PAR can, Vince Foster has been using the XLEDs to create decorative washes.

"In the past, it has always been difficult to position fixtures manufactured in Asia in the German market," said Luyckx. "But in two or three months, the XLED 590s have started to become accepted, and we have had no negative comments."

Luyckx expected that the LED wash lights will migrate from concert touring into other sectors of Satis & Fy's corporate event production work.
