White Light Offers PIGI Projection Systems

LONDON – Following the recent changes at E/T/C UK and projection designer Ross Ashton's launch of his new company, The Projection Studio, White Light announced that it is the sole supplier of the PIGI large-format projection system in the U.K. The PIGI system – including high-output projectors and automated double rotating film scrollers – was used in recent years for the Queen of England's Golden Jubilee and the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War II (both projects involving projection onto the front of Buckingham Palace), the Edinburgh Military Tattoo (annually since 2005), the 800th Anniversary of Cambridge University, and New Year's Eve in London, among other applications.

Those shows were designed by projection artist Ross Ashton, who until recently had run E/T/C in the UK, providing the projection equipment to the shows he designs. He is now concentrating on show design and has handed over the duties of servicing, preparing and supplying the projection equipment to a company specializing in such work – White Light.

"We are delighted that Ross has chosen to entrust to us the care of the PIGI projectors," said White Light managing director Bryan Raven. E/T/C UK's inventory of PIGI projectors, film scrollers and accessories has become part of White Light's rental stock.

White Light also announced plans to work with E/T/C UK and Ashton's new projection service company, The Projection Studio, to create projection material and film scrolls where required.
