More details from White Light (www.WhiteLight.Ltd.uk):
Now in its 19th year, DevWeek is the UK’s leading conference for professional software developers, managers, team leaders, architects and analysts. The conference provides attendees with a unique opportunity to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies, best practices and frameworks from industry-leading experts. This year’s conference was held from April 18 to 22 at Central Hall Westminster. As the venue’s Production Service Partner, White Light provided the production support throughout the week.
Jonjo Glynn, WL’s Venue Director, comments: “DevWeek is one of the most important dates in the development software calendar. It was an extremely busy schedule and we had to support the various breakout sessions and full-day workshops. In total, we supported 110 x 90 minute sessions given by leading developers from across the globe. This meant having to adapt to various set-up styles and accommodating the technological requirements of the numerous speakers”.
WL was responsible for providing the lighting, audio and video support for any event taking place in Central Hall Westminster’s flagship space: the Great Hall. Boasting Europe’s largest domed roof, the Great Hall played host to various key note speakers throughout the week.
Along with facilitating the various presentations, WL had to oversee their recording and online distribution. Jono adds: “Due to DevWeek having such a global reach, it required a strong online presence. Therefore, we recorded the various presentations via a series of KeyPro systems for an immediate upload onto the DevWeek website within a 72 hour time period”.
Following its recent investment in the ground-breaking Christie 4K30 Boxer Projectors, these were in full use during DevWeek, with the conference’s branding being projected onto the entrance foyer at Central Hall.
Jonjo adds: “What’s great about hosting any event at Central Hall is that the fantastic spaces can be perfectly complimented by our state-of-the-art technology. Having stunning architecture alongside innovative equipment allows any event taking place within that space to achieve its potential”.
The week was a huge success, with Central Hall Westminster once again being the ideal setting for the UK’s premier developer conference.
Darcie Bone, Event Manager for Capita Travel and Events, who organised DevWeek, comments: “This year’s DevWeek was the most successful yet and we were delighted to welcome a variety of exciting speakers from companies across the globe. We’d like to thank WL for their support throughout the week and for helping such a busy and technology-dependent event run so smoothly”.
