RANDOLPH, MA – ALPS, based here, recently named Ethan Gilson as the company’s rigging specialist, a new position. An ETCP Certified Rigger and Recognized trainer, Ethan has been with the company since 1999, where he worked a lighting designer and production rigger for the Events Department. He is currently a voting member of the PLASA Rigging Working Group and has chaired task groups in the development of ANSI Standards for rigging in the entertainment industry.

In this new role, Ethan will be responsible for overseeing the rigging needs, policies and procedures of all ALPS departments. This will include rigging systems design and implementation for installations, live event rigging services, design consultation for rental clients, rigging inspections, personal fall arrest system design, as well as continuing to grow the organization’s educational arm, ALPS Academy – Entertainment Rigging Sessions.
