LONDON — Philips Lighting named Graham Eales entertainment controls systems director, Europe. Eales had recently left Cooper Controls, where he had been managing director for the Zero 88 brand.
“Graham made significant contributions to Zero 88 during his eight years, during which time the brand launched Frog consoles and the Chilli dimming range. We would like to thank Graham for his years of service and wish him well in his future endeavours,” said Ken Walma, general manager, Cooper Controls.
Eales started his career in his native South Africa as an apprentice in theatre in the Natal Performing Arts Council. He worked in various areas of lighting with the resident Opera, Dance and Drama companies. He concluded his career there as the resident LD for the Loft Theatre company.
Eales left South Africa to join Selecon where over a six year period, he worked in Asia and then globally as sales manager eventually moving to the U.K. to set up the Selecon European business.
With this change, Cooper Controls announced that Grant Bales-Smith will take on responsibility for Zero 88 profitability in all markets outside the Americas as well as sales responsibility for U.K., Southern Europe, Middle East & Africa.
Franck Tiesing will continue to manage Northern & Eastern Europe. Claire House will take on sales responsibility for Asia & Australasia and continues as the brand marketing manager.
Philips Lighting also announced several changes for its North American operations. In December the company expected to move its Cypress customer service operations to its primary manufacturing and support facility in Dallas Texas, completing the consolidation plan there.
