DALLAS, TX – CommuniLux Productions named Jim Waits marketing/sales director at the 4001 East Side Ave. location in Dallas. Warren Cunningham, president of CommuniLux Productions, made the announcement.
“I’ve known Jim since our days at Showco Lighting, BVL (before Vari-Lite) and look forward to throwing him the challenges I know he thrives on,” said Cunningham.
Waits, one of the original VL programmers, capped his touring career with Michael Jackson’s “Bad” tour before developing the education department at Vari-Lite, Inc. and branching into marketing with university outreach, trade seminars and the Broadway Lighting Master Class.
His career has also taken him through design, personnel and project management roles. “I’ve been fortunate to have worked with good people in creative growth organizations twice before. This feels like I’m charmed again,” Waits said.
