DANVERS, MA – Tom Shottes, pictured right, who had led Osram Opto Semiconductors, has been named senior vice president of Osram Sylvania's new Professional Lighting Solid State Lighting and Light Management System groups. Taking his place as the CEO of Osram Opto Semiconductors is Don Klase, pictured left. Osram noted that the management shift reflects the growing emphasis the company is putting on semiconductor lighting technologies.

In his newly created role, Shottes will be responsible for the development, marketing and sale of professional solid state lighting (SSL) solutions across North America. "Tom Shottes is the ideal choice," said Rick Leaman Osram Sylvania president and CEO. Shottes started his career with Osram Opto Semiconductors in 1998.

Don Klase has worked in the semiconductor industry for 26 years and joined Siemens Microelectronics in 1997, then moved to Osram Opto Semiconductors in 2004.
